William Heydt is a distinguished American artist, born in 1949 in New York, whose oeuvre is distinguished by its formidable technical skill and profound conceptual depth. After a formative education at the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design, Heydt began an odyssey that took him across Europe and the Near East, and into contact with some of the most illustrious artistic minds of the era. Heydt studied printmaking under the tutelage of Stanley William Hayter in France, and earned a coveted residency at La Cité des Arts in Paris.
